Whether your home is heated by mains gas, LPG, oil or otherwise, thermostats can play a huge part in reducing your energy bills and carbon footprint.

Central heating systems usually have one main thermostat located in the hall. When your heating is on, you can set the temperature on this. It usually takes the form of a dial with temperature values on.

The main problem with this is that all your house has to be the same temperature! You might want your living room to be a nice 20 degrees, but your hallway is where it is measured, so your hallway has to be this as well. Also, other rooms, such as the bedrooms. Nobody likes to be too hot when trying to sleep.

Maybe your central heating radiators have controls on them, but nobody really goes around turning these up and down.

Electric radiators will give you the same effect as a gas central heating system. Same quality of heat but better controllability.

Our electric radiators are individually programmable and thermostatic. You set the temperature what you want the room to be, and when this is reached, the radiators stop heating. When the room temperature drops, the radiator senses this and kicks in with small amounts of power and heat. Just enough to maintain the room temperature.

They have an integral room thermostat, which is located at the bottom of the radiator, shielded from any heat coming off the radiator. It is highly accurate to within 0.1 of a degree. This measures the cold air at the bottom of the room enabling an accurate, even room temperature to be set and maintained.

Accurate thermostats mean no under heating or over heating a room, only using the correct amount of power and energy to maintain your comfortable room temperature.

Not only that, but because each radiator has its own thermostat, you can have different rooms at different temperatures. So you don’t have to heat rooms you are not using, saving you £££.

Turning down your thermostat by one degree can save between £80 - £85 and 340kg - 350kg carbon dioxide (source: Energy Saving Trust). Electric radiators enable you to do this easily.
